The #4584/#4684 30 GB QIC Tape Unit can be mounted in a removable media device slot of a system unit or an expansion tower. The #4584 and #4684 may be used for save/restore, alternate IPL, program distribution, migration,
and QIC tape exchange.
The #9284 is a base 30 GB QIC Tape Unit feature that is the default (e-Config) on the Model 800 Standard and Advanced Editions. This device is identical to the #4584.
The #6384 can be mounted in the system unit of models 170 and 250
The #4584 can be mounted in the system unit of Models 270, 800, 810, and 820.
The #4684 can be mounted in the base PCI enclosure of Models 825, 830, 840, 870, and 890, in the #5074/#5079 PCI
Expansion Towers, in the #5094/#5294 Expansion Towers, in the #8093 Optional 1.8 M I/O Rack, and in the #9094 Base
PCI I/O Enclosure of the Model 890.
The #9284 is a base 30 GB ΒΌ-inch Cartridge Tape Unit for the Model 800 Standard and Advanced Editions. The #9284
can be mounted in a removable media device slot in the Model 800 system unit or in the expansion tower.
Supported on Linux and AIX 5L V5.2 (or higher) for migration.
Minimum operating system level: OS/400 V4R5 (#9284 requires OS/400 V5R2)
The #4584/#4684 is a Customer Install Feature.
